Whit Long is a trial lawyer focusing on personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Growing up in a family with two doctors, he has a passion and a knack for handling cases that involve complex medical issues and serious injuries.
Prior to joining Emroch & Kilduff, Whit spent several years with a boutique medical malpractice and healthcare litigation firm, where he represented veterans and military members nationwide in cases brought under the Federal Tort Claims Act against the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federally owned hospitals, as well as plaintiffs throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. During this time, Whit successfully obtained well over a million dollars in compensation for his clients.
Whit also has experience handling matters concerning professional liability, workers compensation and insurance defense, giving him valuable insight into how the other side values and handles personal injury and medical malpractice claims.
Whit received his bachelor’s degree from Hampden-Sydney College in 2012. After a couple years working in politics, he then attended the University of Richmond School of Law, during which time he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Kurt D. Engelhardt of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisianna.
Whit enjoys being in the courtroom and works tirelessly to achieve the best possible results for his clients. In his free time, though, he enjoys golfing, playing basketball and lacrosse, hunting, and spending time with his family. He also volunteers his time as an assistant coach for a local high school varsity lacrosse team.
