Wheelchair-bound plaintiff was not properly fastened into her wheelchair or her wheelchair was not properly secured into a van transporting plaintiff to dialysis, which she received for end-stage renal disease. Plaintiff suffered from several life-threatening medical conditions unrelated to the accident giving rise to this claim. Her life expectancy was limited and defendants contested the reasonableness of the charges associated with her immediate post-injury hospitalization and surgery. Liability was not contested.
