Plaintiff was struck and run over by a school bus in a crosswalk as plaintiff walked to school. The bus fractured plaintiff's left tibia and fibia as well as six bones in her right foot. The fractures were treated surgically and plaintiff will live with a fixation device implanted to stabilize the tib-fib fracture. Plaintiff missed months of school and was mostly confined to the family home. Plaintiff persevered with academic obligations from home. Plaintiff's family had to assist with dressing and bathing. Plaintiff's once-promising athletic future is in doubt. Plaintiff recovered well and a structured settlement will provide for post-secondary educational expenses and financial security for many years.
